When we were planning this top secret project and we decided that Brian would propose to Izzy outside, I don’t think either of us really imagined how wet it was going to be.

The idea was simple. After they arrived from New York, I would would go to St James Park, close to Buckingham Palace, the following morning and wait for them there. Brian would tell Izzy they needed to walk through the park because he liked it or wanted to feed the ducks or ANYTHING that would not arouse suspicion. I would follow behind, subtley and stealthily…Like a cat.

Brian would get down on one knee, Will you marry me? Yes, yes a thousand times yes, I take photos, we all live happily ever after. Funny thing about London in December, the weather isn’t great. And on that particular morning of that particular day it was very wet.
It was also very windy and very cold.

This meant that that no one else had decided to go for a walk in the park. It was just the three of us. As you can imagine it was difficult to blend in when you are the only person in the park. Brian & Izzy walked past and I began to follow them.
Honestly it looked like the scene of a movie where the couple are being followed by a very bad man. Luckily Izzy did not turn around or even notice me.

Once they got to the right spot Brian dropped his umbrella in a show of chivalrous bravado (which I later found out impressed Izzy) got down on one knee in the rain and asked for her hand in marriage. She said yes! Of course! And we all lived happily ever after.

I was completely drenched, wet through, but it was worth it to be able to witness this moment and capture it on camera.
